Default question about my DSM 450s

i bought some 450 dsm injectors on ebay. I am in the process of installing them and the harness dont snap in to eachother. So im going to have to cut wires. The wires arent the same color. Does anyone know what color has to go to what? my DSM's have a yellow and black stripe wire and a black and blue stripe wire. My 98 honda prelude has a yellow wire and a yellow wire with black stripe. what do i do?

On the DSM clips, the yellow/black stripe wire goes to your resistor box. The other wires go to your ECU.

resistor box? I didnt think preludes had that. I was told that you just take the old ones out and put the new ones in. I figured i might have to splice some wires. but didnt know i would have to mess with the ECU

Hrm, well, from what I understand, since your car doesn't have a resistor box, you will need one. That, or inline 10w 10ohm resistors on each injector..

i've heard of some dsm just connecting right in to some hondas harness. I spliced the wires put them back together the way they would be in the stock honda harness and put them in the DSM harness. So its just like using the stock harness from a honda. I havnt heard about putting in resistors if you have the wiring already and know where it goes. Im gonna try it if it starts it should idle like its running RICH... if not it shouldnt start at all... correct?
I hope im not going to hurt anything. Im not going to drive it

It started right up, idle like hell. Smoked like crazy. which means it ran rich. Now i gotta hook up my SAFC and get to the exhaust shop. if anyone cares.
haha

Thanks for the help

if you're running peak and hold injectors on a saturated system then something is going to break.

if your prelude doesn't have a resistor box; INSTALL THEM!

Ya, Comp is right.

Like I said, you need to install the resistor box or inline resistors if your vehicle doesn't have the box. Your'e going to damage your injectors.

Yes, listen to the wise men. You're going to ---- something up. There is a reason people use the resistor boxes. If your Prelude was a few years older it wouldn't need the resistors, but since it isn't, you do. :P
