k check it out guys i got a d15b1 and i was wondering if there was any way i could put a d16(i think its a y8 but not positive) vtech head on it? if so what would i need

is your motor a 16 valve dx? or an 8 because im doing the swap now and on a previous topic i was told that if its 8 valve it wont work because theres not enough reliefs on the pistons

 

yes the 1.5 is a 16 v

 

it will work the bolt paterns are the same. compression will be insane i think almost 11:1

 

flow rate of a d16z6 is better then the d16y8 head. but the closed chamber of the y8 will give you a better boost in comp. its your choice. they're both great heads. just try to keep the y8 int. manifold for which ever head you use. just need the y8 or z6 head gasket, timing belt, spark plug wires, and you're good to go. o yeah...make sure you use the right dist. for the head. good luck

 

hell ya i got every thing i kept the whole top end off my blow up 1.6 that the intake,head,dist,fuel injectors i mean i got everything! thank u guys for the info

 

oh ya i looked into it (means i got off my *** and looked at my old block) and it is a z6

 

Just make sure your 1.5 is a 16valve model.. the d15b2 and b7 are 16v models, .

it is its a d15b7 plus it says 16v on the v,cover
lol i notice i said it was a b1 in my first post lol

 

Is it impossible to boost on those with that compression? I was considering it.
