Default 4g63 in a EG civic!!

A local guy (Canadian too!) just finished his 4g63 swap into a EG civic hatchback. Apparently it works pretty good, but when he gave it some gas to see what it'd do, he broke the axles because they were too short.

Pretty impressive swap though!!

Is it me, or is that motor not sitting level? That would be a big axel SNAFU if it isnt.

I own a Talon, and I dunno why people are so hot to plop in a 4g63.. its not THAT good of a motor. People make amazing power with the Honda motors too.

4g63's can take some serious abuse in stock form, Very well desinged engines. But as gimpy said.. Hondas engines can make some amazing power and I really dont see why you would do that swap, I can only imagne the wiring and all the custom fab stuff that was involved in the swap. Axles are probably just ------- nightmare.

Definatly different though ::thumbs up::

Well, engines made before April 1992 are good. After that Mitsubishi introduced the 7bolts and with them a SERIOUSLY flawed (and they admit it) thrust bearing design

Another thing that sucks is having to deal with MMC's gimpass mass-air metering system (hey i hack Mitsu ecus in my spare time too!). Honda gave us the gift of simplicity... speed density.

I believe he did this swap because the motor has a lot of potential. Also, it's a very hard swap and definately unique.
