Default H-series vs. B16a

I have a friends who is supposedly getting some 200hp engine, and the only affordable engine that comes to mind is one of the H series engines. He has some 95+ Civic. I'm doing a B16a swap into my 89 CRX Si right now. I was wondering what would happen in a race between us? I know that there is going to be a few hundred lbs difference between us, but that probably won't help me much will it?

well is it 200 hp to wheels or crank, b16a is around 140 to wheels, so 200 to Flywheel would be around 175 to wheels. you would lose but prob not by alot. may i suggest a turbo?

I think 200 hp for the specs, so i guess to the flywheel. My rex also has cai and exhaust and stock rims, while his has nothing (since last time i saw him), but 17 inch rims. Does that help me some more?

not to mention the 60ft lbs of torque the H22 has over the B16.

two words: you lose

You sure he isnt getting an ITR motor?

uhmmm depends man...if he has a EG he's a lot heavier and will have more traction problems with that engine. If he's rolling 17's he will not spin easily though, but will get of at a slower start....to much variables here. If you're a better driver you should beat him. I've seen a lot of CRX Vti's run low 14's. So you have a chance. I bet you would beat him though

B16's are really really slow. your going to get killed if he is getting an H22. The torque is soo much higher on an H series.

a good B16 rocks.
My friend has a prelude with a h22a8 220HP engine stock
it has no chance with a b16a2 (muffler, exhaust, header) in a Delsol
h series are not as good as B series
i think youll be equal
