It looks like I got the wrong chip size can someone verify? Can I still use these chips in the same way?

Sinner, It's hard to tell if those will work for you. The eprom in the auction looks like it's a bit wider than a normal 27c256, the legs of the eprom are bent so installing it in a socket might be tricky unless you bend them, and it doesn't contain the UV erase window on the top.
I've never really seen that style chip before. I beleive it would probably work for you with slight modification, but maybe someone else who might know for sure could answer your question better.
