CEL
A bit of a stupid question but how do i find out the code that my CEL is showing?
i know that you have to bridge the service connector, but im not sure what to do with the ignition being on or off at what stage in the procedure.
I have a OBD1 1992 b16a2

do you have the little green service clip with 2 wires going into it above your ECU?
if so, just take a paper clip, un ravel it, and stick the ends in the plug. now click your key to the acc position on the steering colum, your CEL will flash. the slow flashes equals the second digit (i.e. 10, 1 being the slow flash) and the quick flash represents the second number which would be the 0 in 10. just count them and put the number together, when you know the number come back online and i`ll tell you what the code is!
i hope that made sense, if not, pm me!

it's simple, the long flashes eqal a number in the tens, i.e., 1 long flash equals 10, 2 long flashes equal 20, etc., then you will get a series of short flashes these eqal single digit numbers, i.e., 7 short flashes represent 7, etc. now to put them together, say you have two long flashes and 3 short flashes, this would be code 23. if you have one long flash and 4 short flashes, this would be code number 14. if you are throwing more than one code, there will be a long pause between the next series of flashes, if it's your first time, just leave it on for a while and it will keep repeating. everything else he said is correct, about jumping the service wire and stuff, do this with the ignition off, then once you have it jumped, turn the ignition to ACC. hope this helps

some people can do anything, they just can't explain to someone else how to do it
