Default Junkyard Fuel Pumps

I've got an EK that I'm going to be turbo'ing, and I was wondering if there were any higher-flow fuel pumps out there that I could find at a junkyard rather than buying a Walbro or something. I know, the Walbros are pretty cheap, but I could grab a fuel pump at the junkyard for like ten bucks, so just trying to figure out what would work for me.

dont waste your time. there all most likely going to just be a stock pump and probably wont work. you can pick up a walbro 255 pump for 80.00. just purchase it.

Thanks for the reply, but I'm still wondering if anyone can answer my question.

Has anyone out there used a stock fuel pump from a non-Honda in a boosted EK/EG that is higher flow than the stock EK/EG pump?

it can be done it just depends on what your goals are. ive heard of people using stock mustang, camaro pumps in there compacts but if your planning on raising your fuel pressure for boost then no stock pump is going to survive, no matter what car it came from.

Well I'm planning for like 250 WHP max, probably in the 220-230 WHP range. I've read that if you upgrade the stock fuel pump wiring to heavier gauge you can even get away with stock at these power levels, but I also don't want to risk leaning out. Oh, and for fueling I'll be running 440cc Supra injectors, tuned on probably Crome.

I've read the 255's are good for like 400+ WHP, which is obviously overkill for his project, and although they're pretty cheap I'd still like to see if I can get away cheaper, because parts are adding up! I think I also read the stock EK pump is around 130 lph, so does anyone have a listing of fuel pump flowrates so I could maybe find something stock that's a bit higher?

Well, just remember... Sometimes cheeping out on something stupid like a fuel pump could ruin your day! (and your engine) haha! you don't want to run a fuel pump @ 100% all the time anyway, having something that can support more than what you want out of it is a GOOD thing

** But if you really don't wanna spend the $80-$100 for the sure thing of a Walbro then just search 255 lph fuel pump on ebay, there are cheaper alternatives to the walbro on there and would be better than some old junkyard shot in the dark

My friend used a GM 4.3 vortec fuel pump on his b18 turbo eg. I don't know the flow rate but it seems those vehicles used higher rail pressure. He said the pump was quite easy to fit also. Just a hint so you should still do your research
