Default ht-18 88 Turbo Rx7 Twin Scroll on a D16?????

So I'm wondering which way should I block this Twin scroll off to spool faster or not block it off at all. I know the Turbine A/R is 1.00 and thats a pretty good size for a stock D. So I've done a few block off plat stencils. When the flange is made I'm basically wanting a opinion on what would work best to make a nice Hwy/Street setup for the D. On Rx7's there a vacuum operated flap that controls this for better low in torque. Most of us Triangle guys upgrade manifolds or Snails,so this is done away with. Also were running Hwy most of the time so the flap doesn't matter. Just playing around with stuff but it will be on a Built D16 with phearable when that time comes. So here are some figures. Thanx in advance for your opinion.

personally i would not even bother trying to run that turbo on a d16 its to big. but if you want to run it you can make a twinscroll spool valve and run it of an old used waste gate you got or find another way to open the flap like a hobs switch and an electronic actuator. personally its too much work for something you can easily acheive with a hx35 or h1c holesets

Trade it for a Holset, if that's what you want.

$150 Holset = Madness

Way too many Cummins turbo engines out there to pay that much.

They are available on Dodge trucks with Cummins diesels from '94-'06 as far as I know. Take a trip to your local pick-a-part and look around. I got mine for $77 off a wrecked '01 with around 100k miles. No shaft play, and it was pretty clean. For your app I would go with a '01-'04. Smaller exhaust inlets for faster spool, but you could get away with anything from '94-'06 if that's all you can find.

Where you at? Checking on cummins forums could help. Alot of the cummins guys "upgrade" from hy to hx, or he to hx. They use the logic of "it's bigger so it must be better". Our gain, I guess.
