So im nearing the end of my build and have a couple things left to do. My build consists of Stock B18, Skunk 2 intake manifold, STR fuel rail and adj. FPR, DSM blue tops, SFP manifold, and a holset h1c. So i found a deal on a Zdyne gold SECU for $150 and im wondering if i should get it or should i just go through with my original plan of converting to OBD1 and a chipped P28 or Po6? I searched and all the threads seem to be pretty old but with everyone saying they loved it. I guess i just want to know if it is still comparable with todays tuning standards? Any suggestions or experience at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanx

That zdyne gold for 150 seems like a super great deal. I have never used zdyne but it looks like you can do everything i do with a chipped p28, ostrich, and hondalog in a stock 2000 civic si boosted at 8psi. As long as you can datalog with zdyne which looks like you can... i would buy it. Im sure there are some differences but since i have never used zdyne i don't know. But for sure you will need a wideband o2 sensor and i would get a Innovate LC1 with a gauge.

 

See thats the thing what turbof22a said crome and things like that are always getting updated and im not sure you can datalog but for 150 i cant really turn it down just to get a chipped P06 is 150 im really thinking about just giving it a shot.

its a hell of a deal on that zdyne ecu it retails from their site for $595. i just never have used a zdyne and would have no idea how to tune or what program to tune it with or anything like that. i personally think its worth a shot worst comes to worst you can easily sell it for what you bought it for and then convert to obd1. have you thought of just staying obd0 and using turboedit? turboedit is easy to use and keeps being updated

 

Yeah I thought about turboedit but I have a obd0-obd1 converssion harness so why not take advantage of the other program availabe for it. But the zdyne really interests me because you don't have to chip and it's real time I guess you could compare it to a hondata. As far as tuning it looks like you just download a program from thier site and just use ur laptop. I'm thinking I'm going give it a try and if it doesn't work I'll go through with shellin out the money for a demon with Neptune rtp. Like you said if it doesn't work I could always sell it for what I got it for.
