what is the max temp an engine block would get to (1600cc)?
could i use JB weld on a sensor with a stripped thread?

Which sensor is it? Hell I'd try it!!! I've heard of people JB welding cracked blocks.

 

its the tuner toys fitting that goes into the block (in place of the oil sensor) ive stripped the thread slightly on the block but i reckon your right, i'll clean that thing out then give it a go

 

The threads in the block are stripped? Damn that sucks. If you JB weld it in you probably won't get it back out, you know that right? The fitting won't thread into the block at all? If it does, maybe you can use alot of teflon tape to prevent any leaks. That way you can still remove it if you need to in the future.

 

yeah i was thinking about that, do i need some special kind of teflon tape thou? for oil? i got plumbers PTFE tape

 

nope, I just used plumbers teflon tape on my fitting and it didn't leak at all. Good luck man, hope it works for you.

 

i know i wont be able to get it out but i figure this block is always going to be boosted i do have a spare block thou if its that bad maybe a swaps in order, itry the teflon or jb route first thou

 

I would jb weld the fitting in, for good. Why would you ever want to take it out? If you ever went back to n/a, you could just block the hole for the oil line with a plug.

 

the way i see it if u want to be safe just go buy a tap and dye kit and rethread it... it wont be terribly hard, otherwise use the jb weld, man that stuff is strong... but with so much vibration after so long u dont want ur turbo to go to ---- from 1 mistake.. lastly if u are gonna jb weld make sure u dont block the incoming oil

thanks for your input guys, I think as stealthmode said im gonna JB weld it in place this block will always be boosted and if anything goes wrong i always have a spare ZC sitting in my garage
