Default ZC / 1st Gen Teg head on a D15B7

Guys, I've been toying with putting a ZC or D16A1/A3 on my 95 DX as I embark on my HF manifold turbo. Has anyone here seen this done? I checked and the headgaskets in my felpro catalog are indeed the same (as I already knew pretty much), but just curious if anyone thinks I'll have piston -> valve clearance problems of any sort.

I asked this question and searched on Honda Tech, but as usual people are too busy discussing Spoon guage clusters and the like.

Thanks!

It is said that it won't work, but i haven't tried looking at it myself
I have a brown top ZC head and busted block in my shed with a D15B2 i think in the shed...I can take a look and see if it fits.
I know that the brown top ZC headgaskets are different from the balck top ZC's

hahaha...this again.....why wont this topic ever die. well...to make things easy....dont know about the brown top but the d16a1 and jdm zc does share the same gasket...EXCEPT that 1 head bolt is off. now..i've seen it done on a d16z6 block before...but it runs like ----. you'll be using 1 less bolt...valves will slightly tap, and you'll need a freakin crazy *** hybrid timing belt. its sooooo not worth the money. you're better off taking the pistons and puttin it into a sohc. but good luck anyways....it not worth the time and money. but thats just me.

Sorry to bring something up that has been covered frequently. I've been in F series land for 8 years.... I'll do some head gasket comparisons and take some pictures for the hell of it tomorrow at the parts house.

okay, so i went to autozone today where my friend works and asked to see a felpro HG for 1989 Acura Integra and 1995 Honda Civic (didnt matter what trim according to the computer). They lined up perfectly, so.... unless they wernt the right HG's what bolt are you talking about because all the headbolt holes were the same. Whats more HK$ sells the same HG for ALL of the D series from what I can tell.

Far as what timing belt to use wouldnt I just use an 88 Lude belt like the ZC guys do when it comes time for replacment? Or maybe a 1st gen teg belt .. who knows yet.

Like I said, new to D series.. but not new to people saying 'this can't be done'. The local junkyard quoted me 70 bucks for a head+IM off a 89 Teg, seems worth it to me at those prices to 'try for myself'.

Also I did the D-series compression ratio calculator, and ... if its not in error: yikes. D15B7 block + pistons + zc head yielded a 8.25:1 CR ... geez about like my 1991 Eagle Talon

not a bolt hole, its a oil passages, i think 2 if i remember right, and on a d16a6 for a crx si, a1 pistons, a1 head = 8.5 cr.

w/o the pistons its 7.5 cr.

it can be done, i have a ghetto head we bolted to a d15 block for ***** and giggles in the garage, never got it running.... one thing thou on a 5gen, have fun mounting a obd1 distributor.

some how i dont really see mcuh gains with this... 89 vs 95.. technology had to make some leaps and bounds between those 6 years.. i bet they flow about the same if not the 95 better..

what hp did the 89 teg LS have?
