Default D.I.Y head work

Hey guys...Im looking into doing some minor work on my z6 head such as enlarging and gasket matching the ports, polishing the exhoust ports, and hitting the intake ports with some 80 grit sand paper.I dont plan on getting bigger valves at this point.Just trying to improve flow a little bit....Oh i will also be port maching the intake manni. and smoothing out the runners as much as i can.

Is this work woth it?Has annyone done this?Does anny one have anny tips?

Thanks guys
Rafael

It's a nice improvement to remove the casting lines on the sides of the ports. Polish the exhaust as much as you can and do minimal work on the intake side.

To ease your work, go pick up the valve spring compressor at Sears for $20 and take the head completely apart. I'll post pics of my head when I can.

Well honestly from doing alot of port work myself it takes a while to get actual power out of porting. That is why so many people send stuff off. Intake manifolds are even hard to get right. I say go for it and learn but don't expect a world of differnce. especially on a scuff and buff job maybe 2-3 whp.
