Default What do you think of this turbo

This guy is selling this turbo he has 8 of them and wants 100.00 each what do you think he said they came off a city bus ?? Good deal yes no

Yup, that is a very good deal. The HX40 will take some time to spool up, but they flow some air. The 7-blade flows more, but that 8-blade will spool up faster. I just paid $300 for my HX35w, which is a step smaller. I also believe the HX40 uses a T4 flange instead of a T3.

He's not lying about taking them off of transit busses. They're in the middle of a campaign right now that often calls for the replacement of the turbo because in certain applications they can't be clocked properly to allow for proper oil drainage.

If this turbo is part the current campaign it is fairly new. I wouldn't worry about it being too "beat up". Remember it's probably never seen the kind of rpm a gasoline engine can throw at it. Average cummins diesel engine rpm is 2500-3000 max.
