Default Car can't go past 80km after installing turbo

Hi all,

Please help me.. I hope I don't get flame for nothing.

I just installed my turbo kit on my car (Kia spectra) and after installing the turbo, when I try to hit hard boost, the car will not go past 80km. I have not done any tunning and also I'm still running the stock map sensor.

Is it because of the map sensor hence this problem? please do advise.

thank you all!

in more accurate information.. when i reach about 80km, my rpm will be about 2500 which is when the turbo will start to create boost.

So is it because of i'm running a stock map sensor hence i cannot make about boost?

please advise.

thanks!

Hi peeps.. one more question. My turbo was just installed and when I first started the car up when the turbo was installed, white smoke started to smoke from the exhaust. Every since the first start, its been smoking white smoke. Is this normal for a newly setup turbo setup?

thanks!

Google RTM racing and he sells 3bar map sensors, -which I assume you need- for $80!

good luck with your turbo-ing, I have always wanted to boost a first gen kia rio since my dad had one a while ago.

I'm now having problem with white smoke issue. And this happen straight after installing the turbo kit (first turn of the key, it started smoking and it hasn't stopped)

1) Oil isn't milky
2) Coolant isn't low or losing water

BUT

1) I can smell some kind of oil burnt smell when I pop my engine hood

Any help would be great!

Cheers!

well a turbo kia is definetly a sleeper but anyway, with what you've stated i'd assume that its not the headgasket.....are your running any kind of catch can, what condition are the seals on the turbo in? i only ask because if it's blowing oil through the intake tract it will produce the smoke that you've described. (check for it in your charge pipes) I'd start there............. good luck!
