Default Map sensor question

Is it possible to get more than 10lbs on a stock map sensor without using check valves and such? In my first turbo DA, i had a stock...everything pretty much with an ebay t3/t4 turbo and that ---- spiked to 15lbs without as much as a hiccup. Im wondering what was up with it though cause on my 96 integra turbo, everytime i hit 11psi, it cuts off.

BTW, i took the tune for my DA off of xenocrons bin directory and also took the one for my 96 integra from there as well. Im running a chipped po6 ecu using crome to tune.

Any ideas? Im thinking the tune had something to do with it but still everytime it hit 12 or so i thought it would cut off. Is there anything i can do to the ecu so that it reads more with stock map sensor?

the stock map sensor is only going to read 10psi(give or take, there are some variances). the only thing you can do is tune the 10psi column to work for whatever you plan to run and remove any boost cuts you may have. or spend the $75 for a real map sensor

yea i'll probably have to shell out the cash for the 2.5 bar. just wondering what other options there are.

would it be hard to track down a gm map sensor at a junkyard? or if i went to the dealership, does anyone know what i would be looking for? sorry for being lazy and not searching.
