Gonna be making a trip to the scrap yard this weekend. Looking for a t3 turbo that can handle 200or so whp

What are some good cars to search.
So far I've got 83-86 t bird 5 speed
I know some volvos. Dunno wich ones
I heard tdi vw's are t3

I believe the turbos you'd find on the vw/audi is the KKK K03. They put them on their 1.8 liter engines like you might find on say, an Audi A4. That 1.8 liter is a 20 valve. I put one on a 1.6 8 valve engine and am very happy with the results. What engine are you trying to boost by the way?

You could search the turbo for the diesel (tdi) also the flange for that kkk k03 is a three bolt config, not a 4 bolt like a t3 would be

i found a nice turbo i might buy, its huge. gm5 i think its the 5.. its off a 6.5L turbo diesel. from the searching i have done. its a t3 flange, and spools up a bit late.. but thats ok in my books. found on another forum, a guy with a b16 running one at 4psi, spools at about 3k and had just a tad over 200whp.

opinions on this turbo?

thats actualy the thread i was reading earlier.. and found the info about the b16 making about 200whp at 4psi. seemed promissing enough for me.. and it didnt spool up that late either. and i want a bit of boost free rpm anyway.

from that thread

Again- WTF are you talking about matt? You can easily have usable boost in the 3,500-4K mark and make good power till redline. A fine example being my friends 1.6 Honda making 220hp at 4psi:

This was completely untuned as well. He has since refined his tune using Chrome and is dynoing 400+ hp on a a little 1.6L engine.
