I have the above car w/ D15b2 and I am racing it in a four cylinder dirt track class and am looking for mods to get a little better performance. It is a stock class and you have to keep the stock air box and exhaust manifold. So far the only things I have done is put 2" exhaust without cat from the manifold back and put smaller tires to help with the gearing. I heard I can unplug the O2 sensor to run it in open loop which would be richer, does anyone know if that is true? I could also trick it into thinking its cold at the temp sensor if that would get it in open loop better? Adjusting the timing?

 

can you convert the car to multi-port injection if you use stock parts from the same body style car? that would gain you quite a bit along with the cam from a d16a6. then you could put on an LS throttle body and chip the ecu to tune it. the cool thing about an obd0 car is that you can chip it and nobody would know. another thing just just popped into my head is to use a d16y8 exhaust manifold. its tubular and better than the cast one that comes on that car.

 

Yes I could convert to multi-port fuel injection, I dont think anyone would know the difference. Is the cam much of a difference to my current one? My main constraint right now is I am on a tight budget. What about running in open loop will that make a difference? I am racing against integras with b18a1's and need to be a bit faster, I'd like to put in a zc but its not in my budget right now.
