good choice for what. If looking for something with not much power probably. I don't know much about that specific turbo but I doubt it can produce a whole lot.

Those Hitachi turbo's are odd as hell. They are actually pretty good sized. Right about the size of a 60 trim T3 IIRC. They aren't nearly as efficient though, but I'd attribute that more to the housings. They're very similar to a T3 really. I friend had me rebuild/upgrade one for him and the turbo shop I order all my parts from told me to just use a standard T3 rebuild kit. The compressor side seal is actually an encapsulated carbon seal though, and not the usual dynamic type that sits on the thrust collar. The Hitachi compressor backplate even bolted right to a standard T3 bearing housing with no machining! I upgraded his to a TO4B and the compressor wheel fit just fine on the shaft as did the bearings originally intended for a normal T3. With the V-trim compressor it did really well. As it sits that HT-18 is really only efficient until about 15psi. It'll lag more than a T3 with smaller housings too. With the T4 compressor it ripped really good on a LS/V.

IIRC they're T3 flanged. I don't remember the outlet though. If you can bolt it on then I'd say run it especially if you're only looking for 8psi. If you want more you can upgrade it very easily with Garrett components.

I know you wrote this a long time ago. Do you remember the store you bought the parts from?
