UK newbie playing with small turbo's
Hi all, thought I'd be polite and introduce myself. My names Chris, from Lincoln UK.
I have a couple of small Japanese kei cars (660cc 4wd turbo) and the turbo's are impossible to get in the UK, so it looks like diy time. The turbo's are IHI RHF3 VQ29 and VQ32 ... tiny. I'm looking to fit or hybrid an RHF4 VF13 (the small one Subaru Legacy twin turbo) on to my rally car, yes a 660cc rally car ... I'm also in the process of rebuilding the VQ32 to re-fit it on my daily car .. I think I'm doing ok, but its good to know I'm not the only person doing this sort of thing. ... Chris Ps. If you want pics of the cars or turbos lmk, I've got a few. |
welcome to the forum!!!!!
i would like to see some pics ;D |
Cheers boosted-t
A couple of snaps of the rally car: http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...h_CIMG0074.jpg http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1.../th_engine.jpg http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...h_interior.jpg The first pic is a recent trackday I was on, which was great fun and I surprised a few people round the bends. The turbo is hidden behind the heatshield at the front of the engine bay and I'll be changing the intercooler soon. The car is fully stripped with FIA spec roll cage, fire extinguisher system etc ... It was raced a few years ago ;D |
yeah,def. go with a FMIC,looks like a very light car.any HP numbers?
|
Stock hp is 64hp @ flywheel as thats max allowed by kei regulations - Kei definition
I've not had it on a rolling road, but I know someone with similar mods to me and he's got about 75hp @ wheels. My aim is for 100hp @ the wheels, not a huge amount, but its almost double standard. I know of people running quite a bit more than that, so I'm not too worried about the internals. |
not to bad,you can eventually up it way higher
