Hi..i own this subaru legacy year 1997 make..anytime i try accelerating beyond 80kmph it chokes and slows me down leading to me changing into a lower gear..it has no problems with starting and it drives pretty well if you do not step on the gas..if anybody might know a possible solution please help..

 

Is this purely speed dependent, or can you make it happen in other gears as well?

 

well matt, it happens in all gears..bt at gear 5..if slowly accelerated, the car drives well and does not choke..

 

I'd first check with an OBD2 scanner to see if there are any diagnostic codes.
