Hey guys, figured I'd chime in & say hey. I live in boring Elkhart, IN. I'm an engineer for a manufactured home company. I've got some mechanical engineering background & try to fab/engineer as much stuff as I can for my cars as a hobby. I actually was searching for some homemade header info and came across this forum, so hopefully I can find some helpful people on here.
I've been messing w/ Mitsubishi 3000GT/Dodge Stealths for about 8 years now. I've got a 92 3000GT SL daily driver 93' Stealth base daily driver 91' Stealth RT TT - stock ran 13.6@100, intake exhaust & MBC ran 12.8@105 92' Stealth RT TT - upgraded turbos & a bunch of supporting mods, full engine build. My first homemade turbo project happened over winter. I took the stock turbos (TD04-9B) and machined out the housings to fit a TD04HL turbine wheel and 15G compressor wheel. It turned out suprisingly well, the car feels very fast and I'm only tuned at 15psi, I can't wait to crank up the boost. My next project will be converting to TD04HL-19T's this spring. After that, I will be fabbing my own headers on my other car to fit a single GT42R, so we will see how that goes. I've got an idea on how to do the headers, but would like to read up on some info that will make it a bit easier. |
