My name is Alex, I am currently trying to piece together a turbo setup for my 1987 Toyota MR2. I got the car from a friend and I am a avid toyota junkie when it comes to knowing my way around a twin cam toyota. The car I bought is already pre wired for mega squirt (He sliced it into the factory harness very nicely so that in a fail safe situation he could hit a switch to return the fuel pump circuit to the oem MAF controlled setup and plug/play oem ecu and run. It is currently on the oem setup and I am looking for a MS setup for a good price, I can't remember what version of MS he had but it was about 2 years old, he ran a small T3 turbo charger much like the one I just received from a fellow MR2 enthusiast. I can't remember what lbs of boost but he said it was doing fine 4-7lbs on stock injectors/pump with a very safe tune (which he still has on his laptop).

My T3 Garrett is a .42/.48 I believe and in pretty fair shape. I am not planning on rebuilding it any time soon, it came off of a running Volvo that was rear ended. My friend found that a inter cooler was not necessary for the low amounts of boost he was doing, He tried a srt-4 trunk mounted with no change in IAT. He told me if I kept it under 9lbs it should be ok without a inter cooler. I might still get a dsm side mount because they are so cheap.

My goal is to get a reliable low boost setup going to gain experience and not to overwhelm myself. The mr2 is low hp (85ish whp) and even a jump to 120-130whp will be very significant to me. My goal is 200-225whp but not with this engine, a low compression GZE (Factory supercharged) is in the works.
