Hows it goin? Got a 1998 Toyota Corolla VE. Looking to do a swap, haven't figured out what just yet. I've been in the Army for over 6 yrs now, not much free time, but when I get it, I love workin on my Rolla. I know it has a weak engine, 1ZZ-FE, aluminum allow everything. I don't want to put a turbo on it and blow it up. Lookin to get good input....

little boost can't hurt, you won't be breakin any records though. First thing i would do is figure out what you are going to use for engine management or what is available for your car. Choices... Standalones, Chipped ECUs, AFC hacks, FMU's. I do not know what toyota guys run. If you can use either a Chipped ECU or a Standalone that is what i would shoot for, stay away from fmu's and if you go with an AFC you will also need a boost timing module. I would only use the afc if the other two are not available which i am sure they are.
