Hi, Glad we found this place. :). My 14 yr old son purchased a rare and very solid 2 door 1971 Vauxhall Firenza when he was just 11 (yep, 11). He used his own money that he'd saved from allowances, Bday's etc. He decided that he wanted a car that was different from everybody else's, and I think he succeeded. Anyways, it's time to get to work on it, so here we are. He recently purchased an 87 Merkur XR4Ti for a donor car, with a rebuilt 2.3 turbo in it. We also found a C4 out of a Pinto, with the correct bellhousing, gauges, fuel cell, blah, blah, blah. Since nobody makes anything for this old girl, we'll need to build, modify, or persuade everything that goes into her. We're NOT rich, but we do have tools and time. We're currently trying to decide if we're rebuilding the frontend, or swapping in a different crossmember (Mustang II). We'll need too get all of the original frontend parts off of ebay and have them shipped over from England ($$$)if we stay with the stock frontend, but it'll probably still be cheaper and easier than swapping it. Nothing will be easy with this project. I'll admit that I am pretty unfamiliar with turbos in general, but I guess my son and I will get to learn it together:D. Thanks for having us.
