ZC vs. LS... which one?

ok i just bought my 1st CRX and i love her. except for the fact that shes not an si and has a whopping 63 hp. well heres my question... as soon as i sell my integra i will have the funds to get an engine....do i sell the integra straight up for 1800 or take $1000 and his parts integra (which includes a low mileage 91 LS motor/tranny/and ecu/axles/a full integra disk brake conversion, and a full interior with good seats) i dont know if i should do the LS swap or a zc swap. i know i need a mount kit for the LS swap but i found one on ebay for cheap. the thing is... ive heard a few problems with the ZC and have never head of probs with the LS, it seems to be bulletproof. if you guys had this option, what would u do? In reality , if u have the option, what would u do? is it worth it? BTW, the disk convversion is already off the car waitin to be bolted on. and how much hell is it to put this conversion onto my 88 HF? sorry for all the questions, thanks for all the answers.
also, is there anyone in new york that wants to do my swap for like $300? cause u would def have my buisness, if not im just gonna do it.

Re:ZC vs. LS... which one?

i had a ZC in my car for over a year with no problems...but why put a ZC in when you have a B-motor right there? you will want to put a B16/18 in there eventually, so just do it now ;D there is a guy on ebay that sells motor mounts for 250 i believe there a gun metal color and work pretty well from what i have heard (Jeff has some). the disc swap seems pretty easy, http://tjshondas.20m.com/rrdisc.htm just use your stock LCA so you dont have to change shocks...good luck

i'd go with the b18a, more aftermarket for it, and its not as a pain in the ass to find parts. plus, all that for 800!!! cant go wrong if it runs! im doing the rear disk swap myself, make sure u get the e-brake cables, master cylinder and proportioning valve!

b18 is nice because of torque and a bit harder to put in the zc has the same hp as the b18 but no torque and easier to put in. its worth the work with the b18a torque is key with honda you can't get enough torque from the motor.

Re:ZC vs. LS... which one?

The reason why its slower is because the integra is a little bit heavier. If you were to drop the LS in the CRX it would be pretty quick. The ZC has close to no potential because there is harderly an aftermarket for the motor. I'd stick with a B series cuz sooner or later you will want that extra power and eventually put a turbo on it so better to do it right the first time than do it over if you budget allows you to do so. The Ls has alot more potential and has more interchangeablilty inbetween honda and acura parts, though. it will be more costly. Hell if you really want to get crazy drop the Ls in the CRX and slap a vtec head on it. Its all about how much you know and how much money you have cuz we all have dreams but money limits us to do what we want. Hope that helps in pickin your motor.

Hey hey now, zc, no potential? I dont think so. Just look at Jeff's race ZC.
