Re:"zc" stamped on an si block
sounds like you may have a SOHC ZC block w/ a 90 si head.

Re:"zc" stamped on an si block
so it would almost be like a "mini-frankinstein" motor? isnt a real frankenstein a gsr block with a b16 head on it?
|
Re:"zc" stamped on an si block
NO, LS block with GSR head. Mini me is a non vtec d block with a Z6 or Y8 head
actually it only has to be a LS block w/ a vtec head. :) and a gsr head would be my last choice, damn butterfly valves. :P |
Re:"zc" stamped on an si block
sounds like the sohc zc motor to me...
|
Re:"zc" stamped on an si block
i doubt its a sohc zc motor, my buddy is a honda tech and without knowing about the stamping, he assumes its an si motor...i can take a pic of the motor and stamping if you'd like me to?

Re:"zc" stamped on an si block
yer, pics would be nice. ;D

Re:"zc" stamped on an si block
I'll toss in my vote for single cam zc as well. A kid down the road from me has one in his hatch, and with the si intake manifold it looks exactly like an a6.

Re:"zc" stamped on an si block
If the code says "ZC" and its a SOHC D-series, its a SOHC ZC period. JDM never used the D16a6 code on their engines. Its not a rare engine, its nearly identicle to a USDM D16a6. I beleive the main differences were Cam indexing & ECU.

Re:"zc" stamped on an si block
ok..so lets says it is a sohc zc motor...not too impressive, but i was wondering what numbers you guys think it should put out...stock

Re:"zc" stamped on an si block
I'm not positive on this, but I'm pretty sure it puts out around 130-135, same as the Z6.

Re:"zc" stamped on an si block
I've never seen a definitive answer to this, but I've heard everything from 118 to 128 hp.

Re:"zc" stamped on an si block
to the wheels? under 100.

lol...under 100? you must be joking. there would be no point in swaping a sohc zc motor if it was less than 100 hp. the stock si motor makes like 110(so i am told) ill have pics up tonight, and ill let you guys take a look at it. ;D |
Re:"zc" stamped on an si block
To the wheels I would say it's around 100.

Re:"zc" stamped on an si block
The z6 stock is rated at 125 at the flywheel.I dynoed mine with just header, intake and exhoust back in the day and it put down 112 to the wheels and 99 ft.lbs.

Re:"zc" stamped on an si block
Take in to consideration that there was also a very rare Sohc ZC Vtec, which I'm sure produced more or the same as the usdm d16z6. The SOHC ZC (ive heard) has been anywhere from 115-118hp at the crank.. @ the wheels, your looking at around high 90's to 100whp

Re:"zc" stamped on an si block
doesnt the stock si motor produce higher numbers than that? i got some pics for yo guys, but i dont know how to post them...id be glad to email them to anyone....
|
Re:"zc" stamped on an si block
nope... bout 95-100 to the wheels
|
Re:"zc" stamped on an si block
