Z6 Y8 block timing question?

My friend DRAIL thats a member here just found out that his Z6 block is junk per the main journals. He has a Y8 in his house but wants to know what to do with the swap. He wants to run th Z6 head and electonics with the Y8 block. What cam gear and gear set does he need to run and what setting. We read that the settings are different on the timing. The block is fully built with Cp pistons and Eagle rods with Ferrea stainless valves and skunk2 springs with stock retainers. So what has to be done to keep the oil dip stick too. Different main seals have to be swapped or ok? This is a Z6/Y8 with a Holset H1C turbo on crome pro.

Helpful and true info will be greatly appreciated

Re: Z6 Y8 block timing question?

The timing is different in the cam.
You can run the y8 block and the d16z6
head with no timing issues. The seals
don't need swapping.the dip stick
on the y8 is on the oil pump.So
unless you swap oil pumps their
won't be a problem.

What about the z6 crank? Will it fit in the Y8 block?

Yes it will. That is what i did z6 crank in a y8 block.Since the y8 crank seems too be crap.

I've read that the y8 sleeves are stronger but i've also read z6 sleeves are stronger. Any opinions?
