z6 swap into a 96 ex

okay a friend of mine wants me to swap his d16z6 into his new car (96 civic ex). don't ask why he wants the z6 in it instead of the y8 but he does, and said i can keep the y8. he wants me to put the y8 IM on the z6 though. is it possible to put an OBD1 engine into and OBD2 chassis? i have never done it before. couldn't i just use the y8 harness and dizzy and just plug everythign up?

yup but one thing you need to run the knock sensor if you use the obd2 block w/ obd2 ecu z6's dont have them

he wants the z6 whole engine in it, so what do i do about the knock sensor? could i just leave it unplugged or would that put the ecu into limp mode?

off topic ?
how much could i get for the y8?

ok so i told him to give me a call and i will tell himn if i will do it for him or not. i think i'm gonna do it. looks like i will just need to swap the dizzy, drill and tap for knock sensor and swap alternators. shouldn't take more then a few hours....lol, but i know my luck so it will take about a week. ;)

z6 dist is unique. as in no other dizzy will fit its mounting holes.

use a z6 dist. i believe they are electronically compatible w/ obd2
