y8 and z6 head differences
I was going to put a z6 head on my b7 block and found out my head was cracked (or so I think atleast). I already bought z6 arp's and a z6 timing belt as well as a z6 valvecover gasket. What of this stuff will and will not work? thanks

Re:y8 and z6 head differences
That stuff will work, u got a different cam and a diff manifold and small thing, but your replacement parts will be fine

Re:y8 and z6 head differences
read here.. https://www.homemadeturbo.com/forum/...threadid=28003
some1 said that the y8 has a single head stud that is shorter. |
Re:y8 and z6 head differences
That would suck...guess i'll just keep looking for a z6 for now. You guyes think I could get one y8 arp?
|
Re:y8 and z6 head differences
man i actually reused my z6 head bolt and stacked some washers to take off the play :-X
the top one near by passanger side is shorter on the Y8 |
Re:y8 and z6 head differences
so i should be able to use my z6 arps with a y8 yead with the worst case scenario being needing washers?
|
Re:y8 and z6 head differences
i wouldn`t use washers on boosted motor tho... :P
sell them and get the one for Y8s.. oh wait are we talking about your stock b7 head?? |
Re:y8 and z6 head differences
I don't have any motor in the car right now, just a b7 block on a stand. I bought arp's for a z6 since thats what I read to be what was needed to put a z6 head on a b7.
