y7 tranny on JDM D15
Well looks like I'll be getting rid of my turbo kit soon in search of bigger and better things. My motor is getting up there in mileage so I decided this might be my best bet. Anyway I'm looking at getting a jdm d15 from http://www.alljapaneseengines.comwhich is not too far from my area. The d15 will eventually be boosted with a large t3 or t3/t4 tuned by hondata. Gonna take awhile to do the turbo setup so I will be NA for awhile, and im not gonna do HMT style on this setup sorry guys time to move on :(. Anyway in attempt to save as much money as possible I was thinking about just using my y7 tranny/exedy clutch/flywheel/pressure plate which is in great shape and the clutch setup is releativly new. I know this wouldnt be the most ideal setup. But with my flywheel and boost the rpms fly so fast I dunno if I could handle shorter gearing.

Re:y7 tranny on JDM D15
NO!!!... get a Y8 or a Z6 tranny... the y7 gears are tooo long and your car will be much slower with it... I GAURANTEE!!! I have a Y8 Tranny on my Y7 Turbo now and it has made a huge difference... the $200 you'll spend is well worth it

Re:y7 tranny on JDM D15
Yeah get the y8 tranny....you'll be much faster.
and the gears aren't even that short compared to b16... Some people have lightened flywheels on their turbo b16's. Imagine dealing with THOSE gears |
Re:y7 tranny on JDM D15
