y7 head on a A6 block in a 91 Civic Si timing issues?
 
Head: D16Y7 (Using at D15B7 belt)
Cam gear: D16A6
Block: D16A6
Car: 1991 Civic SI


Just wondering if I will have any timing issues or anything using this combination. Going to be throwing on the D15B7 belt and I want to know if I will run into any issues or have to do anything special or should it just run just fine? Thanks

DEAR ------- GOD!!!!!!! I have bought 3 belts for this goddamn ------- piece of ---- motor! None of them ------- work!!!!

D16A6 belt 107 teeth - too big way too much slack.
D16Y7 belt 104 teeth - too small impossible to get it on, will break the belt if forced on there.
D15B7 belt 106 teeth - still to much slack(like on the right its tensed just prefect but the left i can push the belt in and touch the motor mount bracket on the head.)

What the ---- belt are people using for this head and block combination? God this is pissing me off. >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

too much slack on the left side? are you rotating the crank a few times after you put it on? If so, which way?

Yeah I rotated it clockwise like 5 times.

Still a little loose but no where near as bad and its not trying to hop a tooth like it was before. Thanks. Is there a good way to stop the motor from rotating so I can tighten that crankshaft bolt because I've been trying to stop the flywheel with screw drivers with no luck?

:: Update :: This combination doesn't work. The belt hoped teeth while trying to start. The tensioner couldn't be tensioned anymore. The belts I have listed do not work. If you do this head/engine combination then you will need a timing belt with 105 teeth no less no more.

I use that bracket that goes from the front of the engine to the engine mount on the driver side.
Take out the starter and put it in there.

If you have a friend, put it in gear and step on the brakes.

This works the best for me. I just toss it in gear and jam a wooden board on the break pedal and seat. Or just tell my wife to get in a stand on the breaks. Also works good for that crank pulley headache. ;) PM Joe (D16Y8-Z6) I believe he's done this before. He's gets a hard-on for y7 heads and 1.5 blocks.
