y7 block with z6 head
im just wondering if i should use a z6 timing belt or a y7. i used a z6 last year and it seems very very close but still really loose( like it bottomed out the tensioner before it was snug). Im gonna be tuning on the 12th and i wanna get everythig prepared.

Re: y7 head with z6 block
I thought that you always matched the D series timing belts to the head? ???

Re: y7 head with z6 block
thats what i thought too, but when i used a z6 belt it seemed to long. does the y7 one have a few less teeth?

Re: y7 head with z6 block
well from reading your thread title. I assumed you have a y7 head, and was using a z6 belt on it... :8
If you have a y7 head, use the y7 belt. z6 head, z6 belt. its that simple. |
Re: y7 head with z6 block
I thought that the y series heads all shared the same castings. I use a y5 head on a z6 block with the z6 belt.

Re: y7 head with z6 block
z6 and y7 belts are identical.
Along with y8 and y5. |
