hey I just wanted to know what grade oil does everybody use, cause I was wondering why does the oil cap say 5-30, but everyone mostly use 10-30 it's a 1996 civic DX...

 

10w30 below 40 degrees, 10w40 40 and above degrees.

Since my car only comes out end of April and goes back in the garage end of October, I usually run 10-40 until around end of June, swap over to 20-50 for those hardcore hot days, and then go back to 10-40 towards the end of September. If i'm doing any sort of hardcore track raping though I change to 20-50 before i go.
