ive ------- looked at everything. I put stock injectors and a stock burn on the ecu this morning and it still doesnt run right. 2k miss and its dead after 4500. Almost every ------- part on the car is new. Someone with some real experience getting hondas running... i like to think that im smarter than the average bear, and im ------- clueless right now. |

It can't be impossible man. Run down an organized list of the things you've replaced on the engine/wiring/ecu. It must be able to be solved somehow. If I wasn't out of the country, I'd give you a hand, but unfortunately, my cost would be a round trip plane ticket from Colombia... :8
This isn't a VW, it's a generally easy to fix Honda. ;D List everything, and it can be solved. |

hmmm,
engine is a B18A: head had bent valves so i replaced it with a b18b one, and intake manifold new dizzy plug wires plugs hg valve cover gasket timing belt/tensioner front pump seal im gasket comp #s are 185 across the board when i do leakdown, i hear air coming out of the other three spark plug holes? thats odd, engine may not have been in the right position, i lined it up with the mark on the crank pulley but it may not have been on the compression stroke now that i think about it. i just switched to stock injectors and a stock burn b18b map off of xenocrons website. This would eliminate the possibility of a bad basemap/injectors. If anyone has a stock obd1 integra ecu, that would be nice to test. I suppose i could still have a bad chip. Has happened before. I pulled each of the plug wires while holding it at the 2k missfire, each one makes the engine missfire more. Every sensor is matched to the correct wire on the harness what else, i dont know. Ive worked on it every day off i had for the past few months with little to no progress. |

Yea if you arent throwing any codes, the sensors/wiring should be fine... I cant think of anything simple off the top of my head other than grounds :S

i didnt read all yoru ---- but in the other thread you said there was oil in your plug tubes. Take off the valve cover and change the seals at the base of the tubes. The oil down there can make your ---- misfire (had it happen on a dsm i had when the valvecover cracked)

i just pulled the vc to see what were talking about.. i already changed those seals, came in the valve cover kit. I thought it was something like the d series tubes that would pull out from the bottom and there was a seal down there or something, but the tube is cast into the head on a b series.
any other suggestions? The plugs are black from running wayyyy rich on the basemap that my version of crome made for some reason. That would burn off after a few minutes of running correctly right? Im gonna get some new plugs tomorrow morning and see if that does anything. I love dumping money into this car |

Did you ever change your fuel filter? It could be possible it's almost clogged, but if this was the case, it would probably have white plugs from lack of fuel....
If it's the stock fuel pump you might want to test the flow or try a different one. So is the dizzy brand new or a different one? First off, I would guess that is the problem, but then you say it's new... The plugs. Are they factory spec with the correct gap? They're probably black b/c the engine just sputters for a few seconds and never heats them enough to make them clean. Have you made sure all of your grounds are good, tight, and the connection to the body are free of paint? If that stuff is good, I don't see what else it could be other than your ECU. Try swapping in a stock one. It's always good to have an extra one for these types of issues. Good luck. |

fuel filter is new
distributor is brand new, same with cap, rotor, and plug wires plugs are ngk 7s at a stock gap the engine starts and idles pretty good, just has a miss at 1.5-2k and doesnt really rev up past 4500 grounds are good swapped a working computer before, but not after switching to the stock injectors. Still could be a bad chip (had the same one in the known working ecu) |

Doesnt sound like anything else can stop this motor from working for you. |

just bought a new set of plugs to see if it would turn these black.. it did. Its like a flat black color all over the plug. Running too rich right? Maybe my fuel return hose is clogged? Stock fuel pressure regulator, new filter, my line is kinda ghettod to the filter- i cant see how that would raise fuel pressure though. I guess i have to finish the exhaust so i can put the wideband on it.

If the return is messed up, it's worth a try to fix it. But I'm still guessing it's probably your chip. |

Getting a different LS dizzy shouldnt be hard or pricey either. Even if that's not it, good to have a spare. |

shes alive... and running quite nice. Awhile ago i thought i had the map and tps sensors switched, i thought i looked at someone elses car and saw that i had them backwards. I switched them and it ran alot better, but still with a missfire. Well, i went to recal the tps sensor for shits and giggles, and saw that i had no red wire with a blue stripe :-\ switched them back to how they were in the first place and it runs great.
I cant wait to start tuning, its breaking the tires loose in second at half throttle and 6 psi. Lets talk about cam seals though, they were leaking like crazy so i changed them yesterday morning- but its still pissing oil all over my motor mount and down the timing case. Its not the vc gasket. The cams were slightly grooved from the old seals i guess, do you think thats how its getting by the new ones? And does anyone know how much oil an ls tranny takes? That is leaking oil past the brand new driver side axel seal as well. There's no such thing as a turbo honda without at least one oil leak. But at least my welded oil drain doesnt leak anymore ;D |

Great to hear it's working alright. Don't know about those cam seals since I've never had an issue with them before... Was there any rust on the cam where the seal went? If the cam wasnt smooth where you installed the seals, you might want to smooth it with some emery cloth, that might help.
For the tranny, take out the upper filler hole and fill it till it starts to flow out of it. I think it's around 3.2qts? if it was 100% empty before, but I might be 100% wrong (and I think my LS tranny, when I changed the fluid, took about a qt less than the manual told me it would). |

theres an upper filler hole?
the valve cover gasket was actually popping off the head in between the cams, so it wasnt the cam seals. I just rtv'd the ---- out of it to get it to stay in place. |

I certainly will, my turbo is out at blaast's shop right now getting rebuilt. Once i get it back and finish a new exhaust, ill be heading up there for sure.

pretty sure its about 2 quarts on the ls tranny fill. you just fill it till it starts to come out the top filler hole.
