Worth the trouble?

DO you guys think it's worth the trouble to drop a D16y7 with the ex vtec head into my Hatch? Cause then I'd have to get the obd2 dist, and stuff right? And get some type of wiring harness rigged for it. Well what you guys think?

The Y7 sleaves are thicker than the D16Z6 sleaves and should work fine but its like the B20 sleaves where they are brittle. What year is this hatch? you would have to have a special adapter for the knock sensor and you will have to see where the O2 sensors are. it all depends on a lot of things:) give me more info for thi swap, year, what was in the car orignally, what header you are going to use, etc.

Well I'm thinking about getting the motor cause he wanted a pretty decent price. Maybe I shoulda mentioned this would be going into an OBD0, yep 88-91 Civic or CRX. Cause wouldn't that take some work? The block is a d16y7(from a 96 Civic) and the head is the y8 (right? Vtec from the 96-up). So whada you think? Worth the trouble? Cause I would like to have a better motor, but I dunno about all this OBD2 stuff. OBD1 I can live with but 2, is it gonna be a pain in the ass? Is there some way to rig a OBD0 dist and stuff onto this block? As for the header, whatever fits, I gots some DC's I guess I could slap on.

that swap would suck monkey nuts. i bet none of the sensors work right for an OBD 0 computer or none of hte plugs would fit. go and get a B16A1, it would cost the same to swap in i bet.
