is it worth building up a Y7?
a friend of mine has a complete Y7 at his school that they used as a example to take apart and put back together and learn the parts. he said his instructor will probly give it away just to get it out of there. would it be worth getting and putting it on a engine stand and building it up for monster boost? i have a Y8 in my car right now, if i did get it would i be able to just swap the head and drop it in? i would like to stamp hotsex's dyno sheet "owned" also ;D

I don't see why not, I've seen alot of people build y7 bottom ends with y8 heads.

Re:is it worth building up a Y7?
cool, does anybody have any sugestions about what pistons, rods, ect to use for around 15-20 psi?

Re:is it worth building up a Y7?
It should be fine but I have done alot of y7/y8 swaps from spun bearings. I would atleast get a new oil pump and check the bearings

Re:is it worth building up a Y7?
is the y8 the ... "e vtec" motor ?

Re:is it worth building up a Y7?
The vtec-e motor is the VX.
I would get a z6 oil pump and a z6 oil pan. Then turbo. Eagle rods are good. |

Re:is it worth building up a Y7?
stock crank, eagle rods, srp pistons (so I melted em cause I'm a fucktard. I'm not gonna hold that against srp) 8)

or you can go the cheaper route with vitara pistons,pg6 rods(86-87 teg rods), stock crank....might drop a compression a bit
