Default Is this worth it?

Hey, got the winter to do something to my engine. But im a scared little girl when it comes to internals.

Here is a quote i got from a local shop for my ls/vtec build. I know i can buy some of the stuff cheaper, but kinda wnat an opinion. I dont have garage space this winter in my new house, so i cant really work on it even if i knew what was up.

Labor- 800
pistons w/ rings SRP- 489
Eagle rods- 315
head studs- 125
Cometic gasket ls/ vtec-100
main girdle w/ studs 250
oil pump gears and high pressure shim- 275
devcon w/ machine work- 650
bottom end gasket set- 89.00
springs- 275
bearings- 185
head work- 325
water pump- 85
greddy timing belt- 145
shop- 45

Tansmission
Labor- 250
phantom grip LSD- 250

And allow 150 for miscelanious parts

And 1000 for Hondata s300 + all day dyno tuning.

Some of you price's are wayyyyyyyyy out there, BTW it is not "phantom grip," more like phantom slip. They suck stay away from it. Also I did not see any boost parts :P. Building a motor is not that hard, if you can read and follow directions you will be fine.

I guess i just dont have much room or experience with building motors. and i dont want to mess up a perfectly good engine.

Already got the boost parts.

turbonetics .60 cold .63 hot
real greddy type s BOV
tial 38mm WG
shody ramhorn mani
ecu chiped for chrome.

i just dont know a tuner. read tons about tuning, but again. no experience and i dont have anyone to learn from around here.

Just want some honest feedback if i should do this or not. and if it is worth the money. ive been savin for ever and i plan on finishing some sort of swap with my tax check.

Why would you have an ECU chipped for Crome, but still have $1000 allocated for Hondata S300?

Devcon with machine work... for almost the cost of a sleeved block.

Walk away.

Half that ---- is stuff you don't need, you need to read and learn for the winter.

^^ Yea. Someone is trying to break one off in your ***. Do you homework and learn. There is plenty of info out there. Do you have a local machine shop instead of a "performance" shop around? My machinist builds motor...and I know the prices aren't anywhere near that.
