What the people try to explain when said that the turbo comes with minimal shaft play. It's that bad..

 

minimal shaft play is expected because when you hook the turbo up, oil is fed through it and tightens it up. on a used turbo, you're going to get a little shaft play, as long as there is no fin damage and there isn't so much play that your fins hit the housing, you should be alright. NO axial (in and out) shaft play though, just side to side

i bought a t3/t4e brand new and she was even a bit loose from the factory, maybe 1-2mm in each direction.

im working on lostening her up with lots of boost.
