windage
could someone please explain what a windage tray is and wtf people are talking about when they talk about the windage? I think it has something to do with the oil but am not sure dont want to look like an idiot so help is appreciated

Re:windage
I believe it goes between the crank and the oil pan sump to keep the crank from scooping up all the oil and starving the pump.

Re:windage
so what does it mean to dry sump?

Re:windage
Nothing, really...just keeps the crank from grabbin it. It also helps in the dry-sump setups during hard cornering to help keep the oil from "sloshing" away from the pickup, so to speak. Dry sump is an awesome way to go, although not at all economicle. Dry sump is only really needed under harsh racing conditions, and definately not for your everyday honda. You can find much cheaper upgraded pumps that fit in the stock location. Oh, and because of the higher oil pressures made by dry sump setups, unless you're a motor freak god, i wouldn't recomend them with turbo setups.
