well i blew my piston ring glan on my d16y7 and scorred the cyclinder wall!! my question is will a civic d16a6 block work with a d16y7 head? thanks for your input

 

yes but timing becomes an issue. youll have to use the d16y7 head with a different cam gear or an adjustable one which would be better. the d16y7 timing belt will also have to be use for the shorter head. many things to consider when doing this. make sure this is what you want to do before you do it.

 

how bad is it? hone that ****** out

 

if he scored as bad as he says maybe only a bore will work to fix it with some oversized pistons. although its not a bad thing. it would be a good time for a rebuild to something more stout.

 

ive taken out some serious gouges with a hone...not saying its the best way

 

It you've got the time, honing will work. Key word being time.

 

its kinda weird because all cyclinder are scorred pretty bad, not only the one that broke ring glan... i tryed a peaice of emary cloth to see it they would go away, they wont. you can pretty much put ur finger nail in them!! before this happend i was plannen a vitara build with custom rods but now she needs a block!! o well she loved 12psi!! lol. time to start with a new block!!
