where should the slack be when putting on a timing belt?

where should the slack be when putting on a timing belt?

before I removed the timing belt the slack was on the firewall side, when i tighted up the tention bolt the slack is now on the radiator side...

is this wrong?

Slack should be on the firewall side at first, then the tensioner should take care of it.

yea you should have basically no slack on the front side
