What's the differance?
 
I still need to get a new alternator and now have the monety to get one off of Chris but i cant help but wonder why wont a d series alternator work on a b series? differant outputs. wiring shouldnt be that hard. any answers?

no wiring diff...they just dont swap over from my experience...fuckers dont fit...

your going to have to get creative with mounting it and modify the belt adjustment bracket to get a belt to work

Some alts have 3 rib belts. Some have 4. Some might have more. Using a pulley from one on another might throw allignment with the crankshaft off. Try it and find out, then post it for all!

There is a write up somewhere o the net on how to do it. It was writtenback in like 98 when b parts were gold. Now, well screw it buy an alternator from me and spend the extra 4 hours of headache getting the d one to work by banging your GF and drinking malt liqour.

---- doesnt fit. i did it once by moving the top mount back with some washers and cutting it a little so the belt can be tight enough.


it worked but i'd rather get one that fits nicely if i had a choice.

My friend had a bad B one and good D one so just swapped the D on in less than an hour I believe. PM loserkidwac, he should be able to tell you how he did it.

I remember that ----. It was some janky stuff, but that is the way it had to be if you wanted to keep it all cheap.
