What VSS To Get? OBD0 B16. Do D16 vss's work?
So aparently when I was doing my tranny swap I snapped my vss
The motor is a obdo b16 with the cable vss. Kind of an odd looking unit Since I snapped the cable, whats the easiest cheapest replacement I can swap in? |

an integra unit should work, but any of them probably will if they are long enough for the chassis its in

Thats what I thought to, but theres more to it I guess
I broke the cable because I COULD NOT REMOVE it from the tranny, I removed the little c-clip like Ive done on other cars, and the dam thing just wouldnt yank out So I dropped the trans wit it connected trying to be careful but it broke anyways So, I dunno if I can even get this dam thing outta there.... What should I do? |
Re: What VSS To Get? OBD0 B16. Do D16 vss's work?
split the tranny apart, tap out the speedo drive from inside.
I've taken a few out of junk trannys........ http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/P4180004.jpg |

Re: What VSS To Get? OBD0 B16. Do D16 vss's work?
your not gonna be able pull it out
|
Re: What VSS To Get? OBD0 B16. Do D16 vss's work?
Why?
So is there a way to unbolt it easily and put a d16 one in? Can I do that with the motor/trans still in the car? |
Re: What VSS To Get? OBD0 B16. Do D16 vss's work?
1 Attachment(s)
very tight fit with a O-ring, corrosion sits on top for 15-20 years, it's ONLY coming out by force from the inside.
Tranny HAS to come off, split down and the diff pulled to gain access. There is a easy way to get it out, but it ain't pretty........ Attachment 26849 You have two choices, but I suggest listening for once. |

Re: What VSS To Get? OBD0 B16. Do D16 vss's work?
Maybe you didnt read the question bone, I simply removed the c lip and tried to pull the vss cable out, didnt budge so I left it, dropped the tranny with it connected and it snapped
I can probably just undo the bolt on the VSS unit thing and the whole unit comes out doesnt it?> |
Re: What VSS To Get? OBD0 B16. Do D16 vss's work?
Read my first ------- post, you have no god damn clue to what the ---- is going on, I do.
Either listen to me or take a .357 mag to the temple. I've been trying to help but your emo ass is deny everything and think this ------- ---- is a god damn cake walk in the park. I had someone TRY to YANK the cable drive out of the tranny using a 5 lb slider hammer. He ripped the steel part out but left all the ALUM. in the tranny. In a perfect world, the speedo drive would pop out. Look at the drive units I posted above, see the two I tried to pry out after removing the clip? Notice they broke? Drove them bitches out from the inside. I have first hand knowledge of WHAT THE ---- is going on. I've fucked up a few driving them out also, but the tranny were junk to begin with so no loss. Hell you can't tell your VSS from a cable drive unit and questioning my knowledge? http://fennia.blogs.sapo.pt/arquivo/Cartman.jpg |

Re: What VSS To Get? OBD0 B16. Do D16 vss's work?
Listen to the Bone.
He knows his ----. I however must have gotten lucky when I pulled mine out of my 90 Si trans... I used anti-sieze to put it back in. ;D |
