ok looking to get rid of the turd in my wifes 99 dx hatch. what tranny should i go with?

Exactly. Any tranny from a EX or SI models 92+.

 

are you trying to get performance gains from a dx by just putting in a abetter ratio tranny? you still have an 88 hp motor forget the tranny, put a vtec head on that bitch and boost it, the tranny swap aint gonna do ----...

U could also use the del sol sohc vtec tranny. Del Sol Si model. (Not S or dohc VTEC.)

 

it is getting boosted in the spring. i know that the tranny isnt going to make magical things happen on its own. as it stands it has a msd sci box and coil, full exhaust, zc intake mani, biiger fuel rail and fpr, venom injectors, 50 shot nx kit, and the ecu reprogramed. its not bad but its still a pooch. so i am getting her a turbo setup for xmas and looking for other things to make it faster... now with the 96-00 ex tranny, will i need diff axles or anything?
