Re: what happened ?
Too much timing?

Re: what happened ?
Nothing wrong. Put oil back in it.
Why dont you tell us the stupid ---- you did? WTF kind of plugs are those anyways? Im assuming timing, hot plugs, and shitty tune. Badda bang. :D |
Re: what happened ?
post the timing map

Re: what happened ?
Y8 intake.........#4 was lean

Re: what happened ?
Those are bosch platinums plugs. To hot for turbo.Looks like you baked the ---- out of the block and head.Number 4 exhaust valve's looks bent.

aft's were in low to mid 11's under boost at all times. plugs are bosh super 6 |
Re: what happened ?
Last time I saw a dyno sheet on a 60 trim t3/b16 it made almost 280hp@11psi. Taken into the account of less cfm flow for a z6, and I'd still say you were making above 200hp on a stock block. What happened to you was nothin more than stupidity and failure to read/compute air flow maps. :P

Re: what happened ?? **pic** w/ timing map
I would go with Bone on the Y8 manifold thing, and you're still running a few degrees too much timing up top, but I wouldn't expect either of those to kill a motor that quick..

All these my stock z6 or z6 w/ vitaras made god amount of power is getting out of control. These motors are old and the fact they have small rods and you have a motor with 150k already wants to piss odd rod bearings being drivin by a gammy means this is what happens |

Re: what happened ?? **pic** w/ timing map
of course timing is based at the dist so if it was not a factory settings now we have an issue but Im gonna stick with my gut
beat old motor that already wanna to go the scrapyard |
Re: what happened ?? **pic** w/ timing map
thanks guys, thats what the tuner and i came up with also, but i wanted to make sure so that it doesnt happen again. thanks :)

Re: what happened ?? **pic** w/ timing map
look at it like this.... your block is now notched for some TT rods!

Re: what happened ?? **pic** w/ timing map
I wish I could sync my timing. I have an auto f22 block and a manual tranny. on auto's the timing sight is on the flexplate and on manuels the sight is on the crank pulley So either way I have no block sight or no marks to shoot. :-[
|
Re: what happened ?? **pic** w/ timing map
also dont mess with the bosch plugs. ngk's have been tried and are true to boosting. stop ------- around...

Oil pump with sensors is a ------- annoying and long job with the motor in the car, I know that firsthand too. |
Re: what happened ?? **pic** w/ timing map
wellmy problem is the auto block doesn't have the sight on the front of the motor for the pulley marks. I figured by your post that the sight is on the oil pump. If thats the case I'm kind of forced to change it so I can set time.
The way Ive been tuning the car from day one has been watching for rising ect's and listening for det. A few weeks ago I took everything out of the engine bay except for the block so I could clean everything up and paint everything since I put it back together I the cars ran weak. it doesn't respond to boost like it did. So Ive been tracking down the problem since tried a bunch of things. Now I want to try setting it to base time. I dunno what I did I'm just trying to figure it out. one thing at a time. |
