what fpr do you recommend?

I'm curious what adjustable fuel pressure regulators you guys are running, or what you suggest. i need something to regulate my walbro down to stock fuel pressure. ive heard that egay fpr's are junk so i was gonna go with an AEM universal one for about $180. what do you guys suggest?

ok then how do i adjust my stock fpr down from what my walbro is pushing? or will it just stay at the stock fuel pressure around 40psi or whatever? excuse me if i sound retarded but i'm a noob when it comes to it.

uhhh yeah the fuel pressure is not going up from stock unless you turn it up, hence, walbro fuel pump+ stock FPR = stock fuel pressure. the walbro is capable of higher volume flow, but pressure is still controlled by the regulator. ;)

Your Walbro doesn't push pressure, it flows. If the FPR can't flow enough to bypass what a healthy FP displaces then you build up pressure over target pressure. Typically this only happens if you have a Walbro 255HP (as opposed to normal 255) and are running a small exit FPR. The non-automatic B-series have "large exit" FPRs that can handle 700, or more. I'll know how much when Goforth's new car goes together.

There are interesting ways around this, just look at what Toyota did with their factory fuel pumps.

ok that makes sense. i was also getting a #1 cel code and i thought it was because it was loading up my o2 sensor. it only comes on about 10 miles of steady throttle. thats the only reason i was thinking about getting an adjustable fpr. maybe i'm wrong about whats causing it?

For your application the original should be fine

anela44 04-12-2009 03:46 PM

I have a B&M and no problems. Works fine for me.

I also have on from DH Racing. Same as the B&M but billet. It uses the stock regulator with some modifications.
