what ecu to use when doing a d16a6 with a d16z6 head on a 92-95 civc
I was wondering what ecu to use on it because it is obd1 i cant use the d16a6 ecu. what ecu should i use. and where can i buy new d16z6 or a6 pistons.

P28 for sure

is the mini me set up as strong as a d16z6. i heard that the d16a6 has the strongest bottom end for the d series family. should i just buy a z6 or mini me the a6. i am looking at cost and reliability.

leave the motor alone = cheap with factory reliability;)

i think a normal d16z6 would be ok.. not a big different between the costs of the two motors.
what motor is in the 92-95 civic now? you gotta get a ecu (p28) 92-95 Si/EX dizzy and intake manifold. |

I would go with the mini-me, just for the high compression. I just built a mini-me engine my self, but I used the Y8 head instead of the Z6. Better bottom end torque and it eliminates the need for the dizzy swap. Its not worth putting a mini-me into a 92-95 Civic though.

Welll, I've been told you CAN use a pm6 ecu when doing a mini-me, you just have to use a Vtec controller or RPM activated switch to control your Vtec with. You can ALSO use a pm7(88-89teg ecu)...it has a little bit higher redline and more generous fuel curves...that's just what I read....u only need to use the p28 if you're gonna be using the z6 dizzy as well.....
