so my bro has a 93 civic LX auto, i was driving it eariler and floored it for the very first time to see what the all mity 1.5 can do LOL
i notice that whenever i go pass 4K rpm the tach would jumps back and forth a lot. (sweeping througth 0 to 6K) lol , the engine sounds fine, it accelarate and everything, i could have care less but it DOES NOT UPSHIFT if you hold the pedal all the way down, it would eventrully hit revlimit and bounc back unless u let go of the gas a little and THEN it would up shift.


so i am guessing the ECU is not seeing the correct rpm to control the upshifting....
could it be the dizzy ?
(*** it drives perfectly fine until u floor it and wait for the thing to upshift***)

the upshifting is the torque converter... i dunno bout the rpm tach ----... i kno my 240 was doing that ---- when i first got it... it was in desparate need of the 5spd conversion/motor swap lol. now its happy

nar it`s not about the tork conveter. it upshift on regular thottle and locks up fine.
what i meant is it feels like the car is not seeing that i am hitting redline and did not make the tranny upshift AT redline.

mine shifted fine at normal driving. only when flooring it it would either not up shift or it would upshift then not downshift afterwards... my friends truck was doing the same. got his checked out then tada he said torque converter. but i dunno lol. i hated automatic. maybe its askin u to convert it to 5spd donald

Check fluid levels in the tranny, same thing used to happen to my old CRX.

i would check the fluid (to see it it smells burnt) you could have a dirty transmission filter

tranny fluid is fine.

i don`t even know how the fuel cut would work, it`s just working but the tranny is not up shifting WHILE the tach needled is going crazy.

yea my girls da did that and it was simply just lack of tranny fluid! who would of thought!
