What to buy...D, B.....H?

Well, I'm sure that this has been posted about a gazillion times. But...Since my situation is a little more unique, I figured I would just post up and see what everyone thought I should do!

So, This is my first time posting. But I have been looking at information on this website for over a year now.

OK, So...I got this '93 hatch from this really nice lady who was the Original owner. it was running when I got it but it wasn't really running all that well, So I pulled it apart and found that an exhaust valve had snapped and had exited via the exhaust manifold without causing any damage to the engine at all. WOW. So I started looking into forced induction for my little D15B7. I had the block overbored .25 and got some other essential rebuild things done to it in the process. I was planning on just doing a small turbo setup, Just something to give it a little more punch when I really needed it. I scoped out a D16z6 head and I am slowly pulling everything together.

Only untill recentilly did I start to consider a diff engine. I started reading more posts about the D15B7 bottom end and I'm not sure if I should bother with any boost, seeing as how the rod journals are so small. I plan to make this thing last, Seeing as how I don't want to constantly be spending a crap load of cash to keep it running.

So..I could finish the complete rebuild of this engine and run some low boost with a good management system or stop right now and put something else in....But what would I want to put into the hatchy? my budget is right at 1000 bucks. I know I could get a ZC..but that ZC would have 100xxx miles on it where as my Mini-Me would have 0.

Lets hear from you guys! Whats your opinion? What should I do?

Thanks!!!

stay with the d man, your this far in, tuned well it can handle 10psi, thats what im running on my a6 with stock rods. soon to have eagles though. if you were to do a swap your still going to run into the problem with the rods being pencil thick. if you want a swap that cheap and can handle some power, just get an LS b18a/b. those can take a beating

i woudlnt be to worried about other peoples fucked up d15' ::coughdocboostcough:: you seem to be on the right track with a mini-me. especially since it's rebuilt. WhiteRice has the same thing boosted on 12 psi and it never over heate once. Run Uberdata and you should be golden, you should be OK. Good Luck and boost it ASAP!

i tripple that! oh and by the way good job on re build the bottom end! if i had chance to do over my re-build i would have had the block decked a bit to clean it up and make sure that the matting surfaces were A-ok. get some OEM head gaskets and a timing belt from Honda. dont be gay and buy a colored one, it wont make you faster.
