what is the best hmkit for front brakes?
I got a 6th gen civic an looking to get a front brake setup that w/ be able to handle a d series hmt kit. I know yall have something for the rear but i am putting together that also. I have everything except for one caliper and a bracket, also the brakeline. I know about the aem big rotor kit but is it much of a difference in stopping?

gsr front knuckles w/ brakes are a good upgrade.
or 99-00 si. I doubt for daily driving youll even need to upgrade. |

Re:what is the best hmkit for front brakes?
I'm a bit confused as to what you have and what you are looking for. As mentioned, integra brakes are a common swap up, research around to see what else fits, people put C-4 corvette front dual piston calipers on the front of their DSM cars, as well as from 3000GT and GSX calipers.. the stock eclipse RS/GS/GST brakes do suck tho.
Nothing like my quad piston volvo calipers, maybe I just need to see if those will bolt up to the civic I'm about to part out, that would be tits having crazy brakes meant for a 2 ton vehicle on a civic. |
Re:what is the best hmkit for front brakes?
I have a d series and wasn't sure if the integra set up would fit. How much work do i have to put in it to fit? But would the si 99-00 work better than the integ ls? Which one should i choose? And yes it's a daily driver but just wanted to be safe with stopping when i install my turbo.

Re:what is the best hmkit for front brakes?
i dont think the teg LS are any different then the ones on your car now? :-\

Re:what is the best hmkit for front brakes?
I thought the ls have bigger calipers than a civic. Would there be a problem with the axle fitting into the si/gsr? ???
|
Re:what is the best hmkit for front brakes?
i`ve read about swaping caliper from Vigor into 5g civic/integras.

Re:what is the best hmkit for front brakes?
So what if i get the teg brake set and get the calipers from a vigor that should fit on a gen6 civic right? And if it doesn't fit can any one tell me the best swap setup to get? Thanks for all yall help, in advance. ;)

Re:what is the best hmkit for front brakes?
yeah i just recently did 94+ front brake upgrade on my del sol and stops like expected. its very easy swap... all you need are the knuckles, calipers, rotors and your set... you will use your d series axles. theres a huge write up on HT forum too...

Re:what is the best hmkit for front brakes?
but is it possible to still use vigor calipors on the teg brake set? If not i still am going to get the teg set but i am just curious. Thanks for all the help. ;D

Re:what is the best hmkit for front brakes?
not sure exactly how well it goes in, but i know whole bunch of ppl in hong kong uses vigor calipers in tegs.

Re:what is the best hmkit for front brakes?
The Vigor calipers are twin piston calipers thats why they're popular

Re:what is the best hmkit for front brakes?
So can they fit on my car w/ the teg brade set?

Re:what is the best hmkit for front brakes?
Anyone know if any other larger acura vehicle can swap down to civic/integras? Like maybe something in the C class? Does the legend have any better brakes? I suppose I could research this one out, but it's not a need or die case for me, just curious.
Oh yeah necro, the signature below your avatar area is "open your eye's i just pass you." the correct way to phrase that would be: "open your eyes, I just passed you." depending on your preference, the comma in there could be swapped out with a dash (-) or a semicolon (;). Just trying to help ya out there man. |
Re:what is the best hmkit for front brakes?
The reason i'm asking about the vigor calipors is because i want my brake setup to really handle the hmt kit. I just want to be safe. Quadnie I think your right about the (open your eyes) thing, thanks man i appreciated it. But if anyone could let me know if it could fit let me know. I've been asking around but some people think i'm crazy. Hey if it could work why not.

Re:what is the best hmkit for front brakes?
AFAIK the vigor shares the same caliper as the eariler model NSXs'
and i`ve sen ppl using nsx calipers on integras BOLTS ON. but that`s for 5 lugs tho. |
Re:what is the best hmkit for front brakes?
Excuse my blunt ignorance... but a vigor is an....??? acura?
(We don't have acura in europe) If so, what type of Honda would that be? I have Honda Accord calipers on my SiR brake setup. Wich would be the same as a civ EX etc... I know Legend V6 dual pot calipers also fit with mild milling of the bracket. (offset issue) Fun to know that except the NSX logo....those are the same! |
